Project 2C - The 101 Mask

On 26/7 after a lecture about 7 Habits of Highly Effective People that given by Dr. Abdelnaser we had been given a project by Wan B. We all need to make 2 masks that are shape like our face. He also asked us to colour one of the mask like colour of our skin and the other one is just black and white with emotion.

He did not mention to us about what to use for making the masks so we need to make our own experiment to find out the suitable ingredient to make that masks look perfect.

After made only one experiment i and my friend already got the best things to use to make the masks. Then without wasting time we help each other to complete the masks as fast as we can.... Here are some of the steps that we had made to produce the masks

This was the experiment that we had done. We put the 'gam kanji' and some scattered papers to my friend leg to see either it will effect our skin or not.






We got this from our experiment. The shape of my friend leg and no effect on skin. So our experiment success.





This was our first step to make the masks. We used a piece of A4 paper and make hole at eyes and nose.












This was the second process. We use scattered papers, water and some 'gam kanji' to make the shape.




Before we take out the mask we made one layer using white A4 papers.









This was the mask that I had got.

Project 2B - Man-Made Structure

In this project all students need to make a sound tool from bamboo.
This assignment had been given to be submit on 26 July 2010.
Most of us had made this bamboo sound tool during the orientation day with guide from our facilitator that are second year HBP students.
I had made one instrument and I name it Bamboo Shaker as it need to be shake to produce sound.

Bamboo Sense

What you see, what u heard and what u smell?
That all we need to describe about from several pictures that had been given by our lecturer.
There are 5 aspects that we need to be considered. The all 5 aspects are space, form, light, color and texture.
Then we need to turn what we had describe into wordle.

Project 2A - Natural Structure

On 19 July 2010 all first year of HBP students were went to Rumpun Buluh Research Village for site view. We need to gather there at 2.00 p.m.

The first activity that we done there is 15 minute sketching. We are required to draw a few objects that are around in short time. The objects include tree, cow, people, and other else.

After that we need to search for bamboo cluster in group of 6 man cell. After a few minute walking in that place we found the bamboo cluster. Then we required to snap photo and sketch it.

I feel very happy to join this activity, as this is my first experience I went looking for bamboo in forest.

After searching and snap photos of bamboos we need to make an assignment using A2 board by sketch several picture of bamboo. Here is my product for that assignment.

Me, My Though and I

In this task each student had been given their own title about one research that had been made around USM. We need to apply the research that had been made to face a natural disaster of flash flood.

I got the research about Artificial Agro-Lumber that had been made in 2004 by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdul Khalil Shawkataly from School of Industrial Technology.

The research is about to produce an innovative new wood lumber from waster oil palm trunks. So, i decided to use this project to face the natural disaster of flash flood by use the waster oil palm trunks as the base material for the contruction of the Polarshift and Other Natural Disaster Organization Kit (PONDOK).

On 12 July 2010, during the first class for Housing, Building and Planning school (HBP), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) first year students at 9.00 a.m. till 11.00 a.m. placed at E48b, En. Wan Burhanuddin was giving little information about the knowledge about APEX, 3P, and Actors.

About Apex

Apex is the short from words Accelerate Programme for Excellence. USM is the only University in Malaysia that awarded as the APEX university. Be one of the top university in the world in short period was the USM target as the APEX university.

Production

There are some steps before we can get the product that we want. But the steps need something to make it work. The step and the catalyst is:

Intention > Actor

Act > Rule

Product > Place

First step to make a product somebody must has intention in their mind. Then they need act based on some rule. Finally they need place for the product.

3P

From the production step we can conclude it in 3P concept

3P is the most important thing in any project. It consists of people, principle, and place. As an example we can see in football match like world cup. To make sure that it is success it must have players, rule and field/stadium.

Players = People

Rule = Principle

Field/stadium = place

If one of the thing does not exist so the football match can not be consider.

Actors

Actors is about all people that exist around us during our study in USM. The actors include
