Today is the first day of lecture after Eid Celebration. First lecture we are learning about Group Survival. During this lecture we learn how to manage group and make it survive. Several things must be consider to ensure that our group will survive in every situation. It include
- · Works together as a team
- · There is a leader
- · Know how to do and when to do
- · Assign tasks fit to qualification
- · Learn every member’s special skills
- · Maintain respect
- · Watch out problem
- · Know all group member
- · Feeling or mutual dependence
- · Unite
- · Support and strength each other
Basic skill that must a leader have are
- · Good in communication and negotiation
- · Analytic and creative skills
- · Organize
After that Dr. Illias continue the studio by narrate what happen during the eid celebration. One of USM student was passed. He is come from really poor family and he is the family hope because he is the eldest one. Dr. Illias was very sad and he also advice us to be a good human in the world. There are many people put their hope on us.
We get 3 assignments today to be complete and post into blog before Thursday, 12.00 noon..
Part 1 – Looking back
From my understanding about this assignment, we need to write for what we were sending to USM and we already get since the first day we came here.
I came registered in USM on 3/7. My dad and mom sent me here to further my study to be somebody in future. I remembered during the first day I was here, before my parents went back to Kuala Lumpur, my mom said to me “blaja elok2.. Solat jgn tggl.. Quran bace..”. I will always remember about that. Until now, after about 2 months study here there a lot of things I had learn. I already know how to make a blog, cut bamboo and use it to do something, improve my drawing skill and know some theory about building. Here also I meet lot of people that to be my friends. Other than that by doing lot of assignment I can improve my poor English language. I always try to do my assignment in English even the other will laugh to my bad English. I stick to the word ‘practice make perfect’.

Part 2 – Looking Forward
In this part we need to tell how we can contribute to the coming 2012 disaster. Wan B said that we need to know our own strength. For me I like to share what Mahatma Gandhi said about the strength, “strength does not come from physical capacity it comes from indomitable will”.
I realize that my strength is I can control my mind set very well. For example I can wake up early in the morning even I sleep late if I know how many hours I can sleep. Other example is during the examination I will enter the examination hall confidently even I not fully prepare and the result that I get are always good. So, during the disaster, I will set my mind and try to make all people can be save and survive. First I will try to spread the news and try to make people believe about the disaster that will happen in 2012.What I want to do is tell the public that we all need to be unite if we want to survive during the disaster. I also want to design a house that can sustain after the disaster happen. So every single person can stay there.^^
Part 3 – Producing Monument
Now we need to produce something that will last forever by using bamboo. This thing will make people remember about us. By that we need to go to jewish cemetery at Jalan Zainal Abidin to make as reference. Here are some of the picture that had taken from the graveyard.
And here is my monument design. I think this is the best I can do. This monument shows one person try to give protection while the other person providing requirement. That is the symbol of unity.
Yeah, this morning I with my friends went to Rumpun Buluh Village to cut some bamboo for the Giant Dome project..
